Space History: Old Newspaper Clips: Early Shenzhou missions


Hello guys, I will be showcasing here some of my old newspaper clippings of early Shenzhou mission.

1. Shenzhou-3 Unmanned test capsule (1 April 2002)

Translation: Chinese unmanned spacecraft Shenzhou-3 returned near Mongolia desert on Monday after orbiting the Earth 108 times. Officials have reacted, this success boosts hopes to send man in space in year 2005. Beyond that, China holds ambition of building space station and sending space scientists there regularly. But no details have been released yet. Russia and America are only two other countries who have sent humans in space.

2. Shenzhou-5 First manned mission preparations (before 15 October 2003)

Translation: Chinese rocket CZ-2F ray(?) carrying Shenzhou-5 vehicle is standing on a Jiuquan launching pad at Gansu province. Preparations for sending first Chinese human in space is complete. China's been preparing for this from last 12 years. Official confirmation is that, first Chinese astronaut will be sent in space between 15 & 17 October.

3. Shenzhou-5 First manned mission (15 October 2003)
